MORE ABOUT SADAKO and the children's memorial...
We stayed at the World Friendship Centre, and Michiko was our guide at the Park. She told us that she had met Sadako's father. Sadako actually made more than 1300 cranes, and when her friends asked if they could help, she always declined. Sadako's father told Michiko that is because Sadako was a very determined girl, who never gave up.
This is Blaise registering the senbazuru with Michiko and two guide trainees watching, and of photo of them standing in front of the A-Bomb Dome.

DC CRANES DELIVERED TO HIROSHIMA - DECEMBER 2011
Finally, Blaise delivered the DC CRANES FOR PEACE senbazuru to Hiroshima Peace Park.
Here, you see a photo of Blaise in front of the statue of Sadako, and also placing the three large bundles of cranes amongst all the other senzaburu brought or posted from around the world. We also want to thank the friendly Cathay Pacific flight attendants who liked what we were doing.
